Puska Night 2 At Cactus (afterparty)
Featuring... Super Power, Megahammer, Jori Samarin and Nuke Mutants
Following the awesome show upon the top of the hill it's down to Cactus again to catch the continuation of the festival. The crowd in the venue are two to three times larger than night before. They're quite rowdy tonight as am I, Lets do this!!!
N U K E - M U T A N T S
The after party show starts off with a five piece heavy punk n roll act, Nuke Mutants. Hardcore rockabilly punk with a double bass replacing an ordinary electric bass guitar which is really cool aesthetically. You'd better believe running bass notes and slides up and down the neck sounded awesome. The mosh pits are fast but not too brutal. The sound with the double bass and fast snare drum gives a rowdy merry drinking feeling appropriate for their psycho-billy sound. With a rowdy happy crowd it's an excellent first set.
S U P E R - P O W E R
Continuing on with the party feeling we have Super Power. Walking through the front door as they play you'd be met with a with a groove heavy sound, swaying songs and quick swung beats. People dancing away to this dirty blues rock. An awesome, powerful singer on a walking crutch blasts his graspy voice creating this welcoming atmosphere of a hot smokey blues bar. Rock n roll is on point and Super Power provide the sleaze.
M E G A H A M M E R
It was at this point of the night I'd say the atmosphere blasted off and went through the roof as we went in to robotic party and dance mode to the sounds of Megahammer. EARLY MINISTRY INDUSTRIAL DARK SNYTH POP VIBES AS WE ALL DANCE AWAY
ALTERNATIVE PEOPLE, PUNKS, GOTHS AND METAL FOLK DANCING TO ELECTRO 80s HORROR INSPIRED GOTH MUSIC IS A BEAUTIFUL SITE.
J O R I - S A M A R I N
More electro and industrial tunes as the party continues on to the small hours of the night. At this point I was in a blissful mood free from worry. My hand written notes for reviewing having been resembling hieroglyphs for a few hours now. I just remember dancing away with all the lovely people in the crowd to Jori's wonderful beats whilst losing track of all time, having a brilliant night out and never wanting it to end.
Thank you for an awesome time Puska. All the bands, staff, organisers and everyone I had the chance to talk to at the festival. I hope to see you all next year.
*Check out my other reviews of the Puska festival. They're more detailed as I wasn't so full of the party spirit shall we say.
